Meghan Markle Responds to 'ADD' Criticism: "I'm Busy, Ambitious, and Grateful"

Duchess defends her dynamic career path amid growing brand success

Meghan Markle is embracing her busy and ambitious journey, responding firmly to critics who question her fast-paced approach to building her brand.

Speaking during her appearance at the TIME100 Summit on April 23, the Duchess of Sussex addressed her packed schedule with pride. “The past year-and-a-half has been incredibly busy and ambitious,” Meghan, 43, said. “You see it all come to life and try to give yourself space and the grace to make mistakes, to know you’re not doing it right every day.”

Her comments come just days after royal biographer Tina Brown accused her of lacking focus, suggesting Meghan was trying to become an “instant Beyoncé or Michelle Obama” through what she called “enormously shallow” business ventures.

“She is so ADD,” Brown remarked on the Mixed Signals podcast. “It’s like, I’m gonna do a cooking show! Nah — I’m going to be a podcaster. And hello, hello, I’ve got a beauty line!” she added, criticising what she described as a frantic business model.

Despite the criticism, Meghan’s business ventures are gaining significant traction. Her As Ever collection sold out within an hour of launch, and her Netflix series With Love, Meghan has already been renewed for a second season.

Reflecting on her personal happiness, Meghan shared her gratitude during the summit:

“To have a partner and a husband who is supportive, and have healthy kids who are so joyful. I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful — and I really do.”

With a flourishing brand and a clear sense of purpose, Meghan made it clear that her ambition is not a flaw — it’s a driving force behind her growing success.
