Meghan Markle has issued a heartfelt statement following her and Prince Harry’s high-profile appearance at the TIME100 Summit in New York — an event that saw them subtly snubbed by a member of the royal family.
While the Duchess of Sussex took the stage for a featured conversation with TIME Magazine CEO Jessica Sibley, another royal-linked guest, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi — husband of Princess Beatrice — was also present. However, he reportedly made no effort to greet or interact with the Sussexes, fuelling ongoing rumours of tension between Harry and his cousins.
Edoardo quietly left the event without any public acknowledgment of Meghan and Harry, despite once being considered part of their inner circle.
Shortly after the summit, Meghan’s office released a statement highlighting her role at the event, where she spoke about her growth as “a female founder, strategic business leader, and working mother.” The statement noted her emphasis on “leading with purpose, creating with care, and building a legacy that champions women and uplifts communities.”
The Duchess also offered a candid take on balancing creativity, motherhood, and her public responsibilities, sharing personal insights into her current projects and priorities.
The appearance came at a pivotal time for the Sussexes, particularly Prince Harry, who is awaiting the outcome of his UK security appeal. Sources close to his legal team say they remain “cautiously optimistic” about the possibility of reinstated police protection during future visits.
