Name clash sparks subtle jab as rival brand releases cheeky T-shirt
Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand has suffered another setback as the original As Ever label appears to mock her recent rebranding efforts.
Earlier this year, Meghan’s team attempted to launch her brand under the name As Ever, unaware it had already been used since 2015 by a New York-based clothing company founded by Mark Kolski. Following the confusion, Meghan renamed her venture American Riviera Orchard.
Kolski responded subtly but pointedly on social media, writing: “We will continue As Ever,” while emphasising that his brand had “no affiliation” with Meghan’s enterprise.
In what many see as a playful jab, Kolski recently released a $45 T-shirt titled the "As Ever jams Tee"—a clear nod to Meghan’s raspberry jam, the debut product from her brand.
As Meghan pushes ahead with her lifestyle pursuits, the branding misstep continues to draw attention—and quiet ridicule—from unexpected quarters.
