Palace Confirms Royal Family Reunion at Easter Service Following King and Queen's Return

Charles and Camilla to lead royals at St. George’s Chapel amid hopes for Catherine’s appearance

Buckingham Palace has officially confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla will lead members of the Royal Family at this year’s Easter Sunday service, marking their first public gathering in the UK since returning from their state visit to Italy.

In a statement released by the Palace, it was announced: “Their Majesties The King and Queen, accompanied by Members of the Royal Family, will attend the Easter Matins Service at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor on Easter Sunday,” falling this year on April 20.

The news comes just after the monarchs celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary abroad. While the full list of attendees has not been disclosed, attention has turned to the possible return of the Princess of Wales, who missed last year’s service due to her cancer treatment.

With Catherine now in remission and Prince William recently returning from Paris with Prince George, royal watchers are hopeful the Wales family will make a public appearance alongside the King and Queen.

The annual Easter gathering is expected to be a significant moment for the Royal Family. Last year, King Charles made an emotional appearance at the same service, his first major public engagement following his cancer diagnosis.

In 2024, the King and Queen were joined by Princess Anne and Timothy Laurence, Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, and several other family members including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Lady Louise Windsor — many of whom are expected to return again this year.
