Palace Issues Update as Princess Anne Delivers King Charles’s Message in Turkey

Royal Family shares first statement following Meghan Markle’s New York appearance

King Charles III’s office has released an important update highlighting Princess Anne’s key role during her official visit to Turkey, where she is commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign.

The Palace issued a statement accompanied by new photos of the hardworking royal, noting that the Princess Royal read a message from the King during a commemorative service at the Cape Helles Memorial.

The statement from King Charles read:

"Today, as we mark the one hundred and tenth anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign, I reflect on the memory of the dreadful losses suffered by so many during the battles. While the impact of these losses reverberates through history, we may take some solace in the warm friendships and deep alliances that have emerged from the desperation of Gallipoli, and which continue to endure after one hundred and ten years."

The Palace further detailed Anne’s two-day visit, explaining that she is attending multiple memorial events to honour the fallen from all nations involved in the historic campaign. As President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), the Princess has visited several memorial sites, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives.

The update comes just a day after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made headlines with their appearance at the TIME100 Summit in New York City — marking the Royal Family's first official communication since Meghan’s latest high-profile interview.

Princess Anne’s continued dedication to her royal duties once again underscores her vital role within the monarchy, especially during a period of transition and reflection for King Charles’s reign.
