Duke believes only the King can end UK protection row as tensions deepen
Prince Harry is said to be feeling disheartened by King Charles, convinced that his father is the only one capable of resolving his ongoing battle over security in the United Kingdom.
During a recent visit to London for a court hearing, Harry’s decision not to meet his cancer-stricken father raised eyebrows. While they had shared a brief reunion after the King's diagnosis last year, underlying tensions—particularly concerning security—have kept them apart.
Since stepping back from royal duties, Harry lost his UK police protection, triggering a protracted legal effort to regain it. Though he reportedly asked to stay at a royal residence during the visit, he ultimately chose a hotel due to safety concerns, a choice said to have left the King feeling “crushed.”
While sources claim Harry believes Charles could intervene on his behalf, palace insiders insist that assumption is “wholly inaccurate.”
A friend quoted by People magazine said the Duke’s calls have gone unanswered, adding, “Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father.”
As Harry continues to seek assurance for his family's safety, the emotional distance between him and the King appears to be growing—with no resolution in sight.
