Piers Morgan slams Duke for warzone trip amid UK security battle
Prince Harry has earned a biting new nickname — “Hypocrite Harry” — after facing fierce criticism from broadcaster Piers Morgan following his secret trip to Ukraine.
Just hours before King Charles III’s return to the UK, the Duke of Sussex travelled to Lviv to meet victims of the ongoing conflict and visit the Superhumans Center, a facility offering prosthetics, rehabilitation, and psychological care. The visit was part of his continued work with the Invictus Games Foundation.
However, the move sparked backlash online, with Piers Morgan blasting Harry’s actions in a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“So, Hypocrite Harry flies straight from a British court where he is suing for more protection in UK because it’s too dangerous for him… to a warzone in Ukraine. He really is as dumb as a rock.”
Morgan's remarks quickly triggered reactions, with one user calling it “the best take,” while another joked, “That’s an insult to rocks.”
Despite the criticism, others praised the Duke for his commitment to supporting war victims. Harry, a former British Army officer who served for a decade, was joined by four veterans from the Invictus Games Foundation who have undergone similar rehabilitation journeys.
A spokesperson clarified that the Duke had been invited to Ukraine a year ago by Olga Rudneva, CEO of the Superhumans Center, during the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 planning earlier this year.
Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 to help wounded veterans through sport — a mission he continues to champion, even as his actions draw both admiration and controversy.
