Duke of Sussex Visits Ukraine After UK Court Hearing, Praises Strength of War Survivors
Prince Harry has released a deeply meaningful statement just days after his father, King Charles III, made an emotional comment during his visit to Italy amid his ongoing battle with cancer.
Following a two-day court appearance in London regarding his legal case over UK security, the Duke of Sussex made an unannounced trip to Lviv, Ukraine, on April 10. There, he visited the Superhumans Center—a state-of-the-art facility offering prosthetics, rehabilitation, surgery, and psychological care to civilians and soldiers affected by the war.
According to Sussex.com, Harry was joined by members of the UK Invictus community and toured the centre, meeting with patients and medical staff to witness first-hand the transformative care being provided. He also spent time with the Ukrainian Invictus Games community, including Yulia “Taira” Paievska, and met with Ukraine’s Minister of Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova.
“By delivering these services, the organization works to restore functionality, promote social integration and enhance the quality of life for both military personnel and civilians impacted by the ongoing conflict,” the statement read.
Harry paid tribute to the "strength of the Ukrainian soul" and praised the bravery of everyone at the centre for their tireless efforts in the face of adversity.
His message came shortly after King Charles made headlines for expressing a deeply personal wish during a tree-planting ceremony in Rome, where he said he hoped to “live long enough to see a little bit of growth in the tree.” The touching moment marked a rare emotional glimpse into the King’s mindset as he continues treatment for cancer.
