Prince Harry Still Beloved in Lesotho Despite Sentebale Rift

Duke of Sussex’s legacy of compassion endures amid charity leadership dispute

Prince Harry continues to be held in high esteem by the people of Lesotho, even as his departure from the HIV charity Sentebale draws attention due to reported tensions with the organisation’s chair, Dr. Sophie Chandauka.

Residents of the southern African country remain largely supportive of the Duke of Sussex, recognising his enduring commitment to charitable work in the region. His longstanding involvement has left a meaningful legacy, especially among communities affected by HIV.

Neo Kolane, editor of The Reporter newspaper in Lesotho, spoke to GB News about Harry's impact, stating, “Prince Harry is deeply admired for his philanthropic work.” Kolane emphasised that the Duke's humanitarian efforts continue to resonate with the local population.

Sentebale was co-founded in 2006 by Harry and Prince Seeiso in memory of Princess Diana. Though the charity is currently facing internal leadership disputes, the controversy has done little to diminish Harry’s reputation in Lesotho.

As Kolane summed up, “The people of Lesotho still hold Prince Harry in high regard.”
