Prince William Explains Why Catherine, Charlotte, and Louis Stayed Home

Father-Son Bonding in Paris as George Joins William for Aston Villa Clash

Prince William has revealed why he travelled to Paris with Prince George, leaving Catherine, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis behind during Aston Villa’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Prince of Wales and his eldest son were spotted in the stands at Parc des Princes on what William described as a special night out for George, giving him the full experience of a major international match. “I’ve left the other two at home, probably watching tonight, so we’ll wait and see who they support,” William said during an interview with TNT Sports.

Catherine and the couple’s two younger children were believed to be watching the match from home, enjoying a quieter evening while George, 11, joined his father and family friend Thomas van Straubenzee, Princess Charlotte’s godfather, in Paris.

William admitted he’s “a bit biased” when it comes to football, but said he’s generally happy for his children to support whichever team they like. Still, George appears to be following in his father's sporting footsteps, having already attended major fixtures including the Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 finals.

With the family currently on a break from royal duties during the Easter holidays, they are likely enjoying some time at Anmer Hall, their country home in Norfolk. The Waleses are next expected to appear together at the traditional Easter Sunday service on April 20.
