Royal offers rare family moment with son Augustus following Windsor service and official update
Princess Eugenie shared a touching Easter update following her appearance at the royal family’s Easter Matins service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Sunday.
Eugenie, joined by her husband Jack Brooksbank, made a surprise appearance alongside King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, and her sister Princess Beatrice with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, also attended the service—though their presence sparked renewed scrutiny.
Following the royal gathering, the 35-year-old royal took to Instagram to post a rare photo with her four-year-old son, Augustus. Dressed in a vibrant yellow dress, Eugenie was seen smiling near a peaceful lakeside surrounded by greenery. The image, shared via Instagram Story, included a festive “Happy Easter” sticker.
The personal post came shortly after Buckingham Palace released an official carousel of Easter photos featuring royals who attended the service. While both Eugenie and Beatrice were included, Andrew and Ferguson were noticeably omitted—a move widely viewed as intentional.
The Palace's caption read, “The King and Queen were joined by other members of the Royal Family at St George’s Chapel in Windsor today for the traditional Easter Matins service.” The omission of Eugenie’s parents reinforced the Palace’s ongoing efforts to maintain distance from the Duke of York’s public image amid lingering controversy.
